My HP office jet 8025 isn't pulling paper from the tray. It is connected to my network and recognizes that there is a print job waiting. The status screen reads "printing," but it can't grab the paper. Diagnostic tool says nothing is wrong. Plugging and unplugging did not help.

Hi @lsd1979,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 All-In-One Printer is not pulling paper from the tray, despite the diagnostic tool not detecting any issues, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check the paper tray: Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the tray. Make sure the stack is not too thick or too thin, as either condition can cause paper feed problems. Also, confirm that the paper guides are properly aligned with the paper.
- Clean the paper rollers: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on the paper rollers, affecting their grip on the paper. Locate the paper rollers (usually accessible from the rear or inside the printer), and gently clean them using a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water. Avoid using excessive force or any cleaning agents.
- Adjust the paper settings: Make sure the paper settings in your printer's control panel or software are correctly configured. Verify that the paper size and type settings match the paper you have loaded in the tray.
- Fan the paper: Take the stack of paper out of the tray and fan the edges to separate the sheets. This helps prevent the paper from sticking together, which can lead to feeding issues.
- Try different paper: If you are experiencing consistent paper feed problems, try using a different brand or type of paper. Some papers may be too smooth or have coatings that can affect the printer's ability to pick them up.
- Reset the printer: Power off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, reconnect the power cable and turn on the printer. This action can sometimes resolve minor software or hardware glitches that could be causing the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
