I’m currently repairing the internal gear mechanism of my HP DeskJet 2655 (S/N: [edited], P/N: 51P94-64001) and I need specific help installing the replacement gears.
I ordered two identical-sized gears, but one has a round center hole and the other has a 4-post center. I also have metal dowel pins. However, I don’t see where to install the dowel pins, and the gears don’t appear to line up with any obvious mounting points or posts.
I’ve attached several close-up photos of the gear housing from multiple angles to show the current assembly. Can someone please guide me on:
- Exactly where the dowel pins should go.
- Which gear goes where.
- Whether this gear unit is supposed to be press-fit, or if I’m missing a bracket or clip.
Any help would be appreciated—especially if there’s a diagram or service manual available. Thanks in advance!
