I am printing 4x6 postcards and my computer is skipping every other card.  It will print on card a, skip b and print on card c and so on.  What can I check to fix this?

Hi @ShaneC9

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

If your HP OfficeJet 6600 is indicating a problem with the ink or cartridges, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that your ink cartridges are not empty. You can check the ink levels via the printer’s control panel or through the HP software on your computer.

Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the printer cover and carefully remove the ink cartridges.
  • Check for any protective tape that may still be on the cartridges. If present, remove it.
  • Reinstall the cartridges, ensuring they click into place securely.

Clean the Cartridges and Contacts:

  • Use a lint-free cloth or paper towel slightly dampened with water to clean the copper contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer where the cartridges sit. Be gentle to avoid damage.

Check for Error Messages: If your printer has a display, look for specific error codes or messages that can guide you on the issue.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check this through the HP Smart app or the HP websitegoing top this link

Test with Different Cartridges: If possible, try using a different set of cartridges to determine if the issue lies with the cartridges themselves.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: This tool can help diagnose and resolve common printing issues.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
