HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer

Hi, I’m having an issue printing, I keep getting an error code 4, I’ve checked and there’s no paper jam, I clear the code and it begins printing fine, it takes the paper from the paper tray and starts printing and makes all the right sounds but it’s getting stuck half way through as if the paper can’t feed all the way through the machine?

Hi @Gemma1992,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP ENVY 6032e where the paper is not feeding correctly, causing the print job to get stuck midway. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this:

1. Check for Paper Feed Issues

  • Paper Tray Alignment: Ensure the paper is properly aligned in the paper tray. Make sure the paper stack is not too high and is positioned straight.
  • Paper Type: Ensure you're using the correct type of paper for your printer. Sometimes thick or folded paper can cause feeding issues.

2. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on the paper feed rollers, which can cause the paper to get stuck. Here's how to clean them:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the paper tray and locate the rollers.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to wipe the rollers. Be gentle to avoid damaging them.
  • Let the rollers dry before reassembling everything.

3. Check for Paper Path Obstructions

Even though you don’t see a paper jam, it’s worth checking the entire paper path:

  • Open the printer’s rear panel (if accessible) to ensure there are no small bits of paper stuck.
  • Look for any visible obstructions in the paper path that could be causing the paper to stop halfway.

4. Reset the Printer

A reset may help clear any lingering errors:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and leave it unplugged for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

5. Check Printer Firmware and Driver Update the firmware on an HP printer

Ensure your printer’s firmware and drivers are up to date:

  • You can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or visit the HP support website to download the latest version.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, it could be a mechanical problem with the printer’s paper feed mechanism.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
