The document feeder will not feed the original paper through. Jammed paper has been removed and the rollers are clean.
The error message reads: Document Feeder Jam: The original is jammed in the document feeder. Open the cover, remove and reload the original, and then try again.
I have done that, but the document feeder continues to fail to feed the original.

Hi @Mirq,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the document feeder rollers might be worn down or need a reset. Here are a few troubleshooting steps that may help.
Check for Hidden Obstructions: Even if you removed all visible jammed paper, sometimes small pieces can get stuck in hard-to-reach areas. Try gently blowing air (or using compressed air if available) through the feeder path to clear out any fragments.
Inspect Roller Wear: Over time, the rollers may wear out and lose traction, causing feeding issues. Check the rollers closely for any signs of wear or loss of grip. If they appear worn, they may need to be replaced.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset the document feeder's internal sensors.
Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date, as sometimes firmware updates can resolve hardware issues.
Re-align the Document Feeder:
- Go to the printer’s settings menu and look for any options related to "Maintenance" or "Alignment."
- Run a maintenance cycle, as this might help recalibrate the rollers.
Manual Roller Cleaning (Advanced): Some document feeders have a roller cleaning mode accessible through the printer’s menu. If available, run this cleaning mode. You can also gently clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth and a small amount of distilled water.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may indicate a mechanical problem with the document feeder that requires repair or replacement of the roller assembly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
