Both of our HP 9018e printers.....extremely hard to open paper tray, we feel like we are going to break it just to put paper in the tray.  Any suggestions?

Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no obstructions blocking the paper tray from opening fully. Sometimes, debris or paper jams near the paper tray can hinder its movement.

Inspect the Tray Mechanism: Examine the paper tray mechanism for any signs of damage or misalignment. If the tray is not aligned properly, it may be difficult to open smoothly.

Apply Gentle Pressure: While it's important not to use excessive force, applying gentle pressure when trying to open the paper tray may help loosen any stuck components. Be careful not to exert too much pressure to avoid damaging the tray.

Clean the Tray and Surrounding Area: Dust, dirt, or debris buildup around the paper tray can impede its movement. Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe down the tray and its surrounding area to remove any dirt or debris.

Apply Lubricant: If the paper tray still does not open smoothly, you can try applying a small amount of silicone lubricant to the tray's moving parts. This can help reduce friction and make it easier to open.

Thank you for your advice to getting my paper tray to work properly.  It’s been going on since it was brand new.  This morning I discovered that if I push both sides of the tray it unlocks and comes out easily.  Thank you
