Check for Paper Jams
Since Xerox (copy function) works fine, the issue is likely related to the printing path.
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Open the front and rear access doors and gently remove any jammed paper.
- Check the input and output trays for any stuck paper bits.
- Close all doors properly before turning the printer back on.
Verify Paper and Settings
- Make sure you’re using supported paper size and type for printing.
- Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the tray without overloading.
Update or Reinstall HP Smart App
- Update the HP Smart app on your phone from the Play Store/App Store.
- Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app to clear any software issues.
- Try printing a test document again.
Reset Printer Settings
- Reset the printer by unplugging it for 60 seconds and then plugging it back in.
- Restart your phone and reconnect to the printer via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Update Printer Firmware
- Open HP Smart App on your phone.
- Go to Printer Settings > Printer Updates and install any pending updates.
Try Printing from Another Device
To check if the issue is specific to your phone:
- Try printing from another phone, laptop, or computer.
- If it prints fine, the problem might be with the app or phone settings.
