HP Smart Tank 585 All-in-One Printer

Hello 

 

I am facing a paper jam issue while printing from phone. I have no issues in xerox but when I try to print from phone it's jammed

Here’s how you can troubleshoot the paper jam issue when printing from your phone on the HP Smart Tank 585 All-in-One Printer:

 

Check for Paper Jams

Since Xerox (copy function) works fine, the issue is likely related to the printing path.

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  2. Open the front and rear access doors and gently remove any jammed paper.
  3. Check the input and output trays for any stuck paper bits.
  4. Close all doors properly before turning the printer back on.

Verify Paper and Settings

  1. Make sure you’re using supported paper size and type for printing.
  2. Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the tray without overloading.

Update or Reinstall HP Smart App

  1. Update the HP Smart app on your phone from the Play Store/App Store.
  2. Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app to clear any software issues.
  3. Try printing a test document again.

Reset Printer Settings

  1. Reset the printer by unplugging it for 60 seconds and then plugging it back in.
  2. Restart your phone and reconnect to the printer via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

Update Printer Firmware

  1. Open HP Smart App on your phone.
  2. Go to Printer Settings > Printer Updates and install any pending updates.

Try Printing from Another Device

To check if the issue is specific to your phone:

  • Try printing from another phone, laptop, or computer.
  • If it prints fine, the problem might be with the app or phone settings.
