My Desk jet 4155 all of a sudden is having issues feeding the paper evenly. It almost looks as if one of the rollers is not as close to the paper and causing it to pull one side of the paper more. What do I do and why would this happen?

@Hydro3, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing paper feed issues with your HP DeskJet 4155, where the paper is being pulled unevenly this can indeed be frustrating.

This issue is often caused by dusty or misaligned rollers, obstructions in the paper path, or worn-out feed rollers. Let’s walk through some steps to resolve this:

Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the input tray and output tray.
  • Look inside for any small bits of paper or debris and gently remove them.
  • Use a flashlight if needed to inspect the rollers and paper path.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

Dust or paper residue on the rollers can cause uneven feeding.

  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Gently clean the rollers inside the input tray area.
  • Rotate the rollers manually to clean all sides.
  • Let them dry completely before plugging the printer back in.

Adjust the Paper Guides

  • Make sure the paper width guides in the input tray are snug against the paper stack but not too tight.
  • Misaligned guides can cause the paper to skew during feeding.

Use the Right Paper Type

  • Ensure you're using clean, wrinkle-free, and HP-recommended paper.
  • Avoid overloading the tray, load 10–25 sheets for testing.

Reset the Printer

  • Unplug the printer while it's on.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes recalibrate the rollers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
