HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-in-One Printer

HP 9025 all in one has a paper jam error.  I can find no paper jams.  When doors are closed there is a message that jam has been cleared and will restart print job. Then the paper jam error comes back. When the front door is opened, the cartridges do not move to the center

Hi @DavidK2019,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The paper jam error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-In-One Printer, especially when there’s no visible jam, can be frustrating. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

Check for Obstructions:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open all the access doors and trays to inspect for any small pieces of paper or foreign objects that may be causing the error.

Reset the Printer:

  • With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the power source and then back into the printer.
  • Turn on the printer.

Check Carriage Path:

  • Open the front door and manually move the carriage (the part where the cartridges are held) to the center.
  • If it does not move, check for any obstructions that might be preventing it from moving.

Clean Rollers:

  • Open the rear access door and clean the rollers inside the printer with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Allow the rollers to dry completely before closing the access door.

Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access door and remove the cartridges.
  • Reinsert the cartridges and ensure they are properly seated.
  • Close the cartridge access door and check if the error persists.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
  • Turn on the printer if it does not automatically turn on.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
  • Follow the instructions to install the firmware update.

If the error persists after performing the above steps, you may need to check for more intricate issues:

Sensor Issues:

  • Sometimes, the paper jam error is due to a malfunctioning sensor. Carefully inspect and clean the sensors within the paper path and the cartridge area.

Check for Firmware or Software Glitches:

  • Occasionally, a software glitch can cause recurring errors. Ensuring your printer's firmware is up to date can help resolve these issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
