Hi @Hanoon,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Smart Tank 585 has a paper jam; you can usually fix it yourself by following these steps. Here's what to do:
Step-by-Step: Clear a Paper Jam in HP Smart Tank 585
1. Turn Off the Printer
- Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord for safety.
2. Remove Jammed Paper from the Input Tray
- Gently pull out any visible paper from the input tray.
- Avoid tearing the paper. Pull slowly and evenly.
3. Check the Output Tray and Rear Access
- Open the rear access door or duplexer (if your model has one).
- Look for jammed paper or torn pieces inside.
- Remove any debris carefully.
4. Open the Ink Access Area
- Lift the top cover to access the ink cartridge area.
- Wait for the printhead to move to the center.
- Check for any paper stuck around the carriage path.
- Remove it gently.
5. Check the Paper Path Rollers
- Use a flashlight to inspect the rollers.
- If needed, clean them with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
6. Close All Doors and Restart
- Close the ink access area and rear door.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Try printing a test page.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
