Can anyone help me to get a paper jam fix please? I tried printing on tracing paper and it didn't make it out. It is trapped inside.

@Paperjam3, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Paper Jam in HP Printers!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Paper jams can occur for various reasons, particularly when using special media like tracing paper. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you clear the jam:

General Steps for Clearing a Paper Jam

Turn Off the Printer:

  • Before you start, turn off the printer and disconnect the power cable. This ensures safety and prevents any damage to the machine.

Remove the Paper Tray:

  • Open the paper tray and remove any loose sheets of paper.

Check the Paper Path:

  • Check the paper feed area and remove any accessible jammed paper. Be careful not to tear the paper as you remove it.

Access the Interior:

  • Open the top cover of the printer. Inside, check for any trapped pieces of paper. If you see any torn pieces, gently remove them.

Check the Fuser Area:

  • Open the rear cover if your model has one, and check for any paper caught in the fuser area. The fuser unit may be hot, so proceed with caution.

Remove Stuck Paper:

  • Gently pull out the jammed tracing paper from the machine. Use both hands and pull slowly to avoid tearing the paper.

Reinstall the Paper Tray:

  • Once the jammed paper is removed, replace the paper tray.

Reload the Paper:

  • Load plain paper into the tray to test whether the issue is resolved.

Turn On the Printer:

  • Reconnect the power cable, turn on the printer, and try printing a test page.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
