Every time I go to print, the paper on the feeding tray is sucked in a bit lopsided and then refuses to print. I’ve cleaned the heads, readjusted the sidebar, etc but really need help please

Welcome to the HP User Community.

"All the options" covers quite a bit of "fix it" advice.

As you know, there are solutions provided for a dirty printer, dirty / clogged ink, the wrong paper size / type settings, printer communication, printer "restart / reset".

More solutions are offered for paper:  Paper is curled, too thick (heavy)  or too thin (either too thick / thin for the printer or wrong settings for the job), paper is too dry, too damp.

The paper might an unsupported type - for example, "sticker paper" is not universally suitable for many printers.  Cricut paper seems to have trouble, possibly due to having a shiny surface on both the front AND the backside.  The printer cannot grab and feed the paper.

Sensor problems - paper is sticking in the pickup tray.  This is less likely the cause of the issue, but can certainly happen.  Try removing the paper from the printer, flexing the stack, replacing the paper into the printer.  Check / Adjust the paper size / type settings using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) and try a test job.

Yes, but...

Having already done everything, perhaps it is good to recheck what you have tried.

For example,

In the case of a printer that passes the diagnostics and can print a standard test image, the issue might be in the job setup.

In particular, HP Smart Mobile requires (at this writing) that you have set / adjusted the paper size and paper type BEFORE you open the item to be printed.

Example - Embedded Web Server (EWS) Tray and Paper Management

I have a different printer (psc 1210) but had the same problem, when it was new. I reached inside (from the front) and found a loose black rubber-looking thing with a hole in the bottom.  I groped around in there and came across a similar black thing, which was attache,d on the left side. Further groping revealed a post in a corresponding position on the right side of the space. This post just fit the hole in the bottom of the loose black thing. After I installed it, the paper now ran straight rather than going lopsided.  The black things were guides for the paper.  Maybe one of your guides is loose or gone.  Check one side against the other side to see if they correspond.

Thanks, @Orcy1 , for the idea!

Not sure how much access is available inside a DeskJet.  The "E4" Paper Jam document shows how to open the printer case for the DeskJet and the DeskJet Plus models in this series.

The only thing I'd add is to remember to disconnect the printer from both power and USB before trying to reach inside.
