@Tracey101, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer is indicating that the paper tray is empty despite being full and cleaning the rollers hasn't resolved the issue, consider the following steps:
Reset the Printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve many issues.
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
Check for Jammed Sensors: Paper tray sensors might be jammed or faulty.
- Make sure there are no torn pieces of paper stuck inside the printer, especially in areas around the sensors.
- Use a flashlight to check for any obstructions in these areas.
Ensure Proper Loading of the Paper Tray:
- Remove the paper from the tray, align the stack, and then reload it, ensuring that it sits flush against the right side of the tray.
- Adjust the paper width guides to ensure they rest gently against the paper stack without bending the paper.
Verify Paper Tray Settings:
- Ensure that the paper size and type settings in the printer driver match what is loaded in the tray.
- Check these settings through the HP software or via the printer’s Embedded Web Server by using its IP address.
Inspect for Physical Damage: Look for any physical damage or misalignment within the paper tray or printer that might prevent the tray from engaging properly.
Run a Paper Tray Test:
- Many HP printers have an automated tool to perform hardware diagnostics. Refer to your printer’s user manual to see if such a feature is available.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
