HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e All-in-One Printer
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I recently purchased the HP Officejet Pro 9135e. I want to print my own Christmas cards. I have 160lb paper but it is too thick to print on.

I was wondering if anyone knows what the thicks or best weight of card stock I can use for this purpose.

Thanks.

Susan

When printing on card stock with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e, the thickness of the paper is crucial for optimal performance. Here are some guidelines for paper weights suitable for your printer:

Recommended Paper Weight:

  • The OfficeJet Pro series typically handles card stock weights up to around 80 lb to 110 lb (approximately 216 g/m² to 300 g/m²).
  • For Christmas cards, a weight of 80 lb to 100 lb (about 216 g/m² to 270 g/m²) is often ideal. This range provides a nice thickness without being too heavy for the printer to handle.

160 lb Card Stock:

  • At 160 lb (about 432 g/m²), your current paper is likely too thick for the printer's rollers to grip effectively, which can lead to feeding issues.

Testing Paper:

  • If you can, test with some lighter card stock first. Look for options labeled as heavyweight or card stock within the recommended range.

Print Settings:

  • When printing on heavier paper, make sure to adjust your printer settings:
    • Set the paper type to Card Stock or Heavyweight in the printer settings to ensure proper ink distribution and feeding.

Paper Brands:

  • Brands like HP, Neenah, and Staples offer card stock that works well with inkjet printers, so consider trying those.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
