Product: HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer

I had a bad paper jam that I cleared... when I turned the printer over this piece (see picture) was loose by my cartridges. I have no idea where it goes. Now when I print, the paper comes out all wrinkled and the print is all off centered. printer piece.jpg

That piece holds a scanner locked in up position when lifted, it should not have any effect on paper jam, the printer will work without it jus the scanner can be locked in the open position.
