Laserjet Enterprise M506dn

Hello all,

During a fuser replacement for the Laserjet Enterprise M506dn printer, it seems that this component, which I think have boiled down to being A02 on this diagram, seems to have fallen off or some other form of accidental removal. I didn't realise it until after the replacement had finished. I can't for the life of me figure out where in relation to the printer it's located and how I would go about putting it back in, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure but it looks like a paper pickup roller isn't installed correctly.

When you press your finger gray lever, the paper pickup roller must be lowered, and the blue nipple of the roller must be in the gray lever gap ( red circle)

I placed it in this category as it seems to cause Paper Jam issues despite the paper never being jammed.

That is just a cover, not a crucial part and without it, the printer should work just fine.

If you are having jamming issues after replacing the fuser make sure that the fuser disengagement level on the left side of the fuser (when standing behind the printer), is properly engaged in the lever. @Valsimot is correct the part you are missing is simply a cosmetic item and has no affect on operation.

Thank you both for your replies.

Yes it seemed that the plastic piece was a cover for the fuser connectors, most of the tutorials I watched had this piece removed for their video pre-emptively, which made it very difficult to figure out!

Is this the correct positioning for the arm?

I've attached a picture of the back of the printer in case there's something else glaringly obvious

The fuser installation looks OK. Do you get a paper jam upon printer power ON, or after you send a page to print?

After I attempt to print a page. It seems to only happen on Tray 2 also, Tray 1 works fine.

HP Recommended

Good news if it works from Tray1 then there is nothing wrong with the fuser or fuser installation.

Does it feed paper from tray 2 if not then probably wear our rubber rollers. You can send a print job and look inside the tray from the back of the device is the rubber roller lowers down to pickup and feed sheet.

From this point, as I try to print, nothing seems to move.

Here's a look at the underside of the printer in case something is out of place or not secured

I should probably also note that the printer seems to make 3 clicking noises before cancelling the operation, with the code 13.B2.D2 'Paper Jam in Tray 2'. It sounds like it comes from the right side of the printer.
