You are welcome.
Good news then - there might be a path forward. ✔️
Try (in EWS) the "Specialty Paper - Matte" or possibly the Brochure - matte.
In your print software, the same thing applies - do not choose photo paper - this printer model does not support matte photo paper. Same general rules - try to find a "not photo" paper that the printer software will accept in combination with the paper size.
General Example - HP Smart - Simple Photo Print

Example - HP Smart - Windows - Scan > Import (photo) - Edit option sets

Relevant to Windows
Example - Microsoft Photos - Windows - Photo Edit / Print Options

Welcome to the HP English Community --
Your fancy art paper might worth more than your old printer.
More important, the paper might not be supported by the printer.
In particular, the "matte" surface might not be something the printer can handle in combination with paper type Photo Paper
The printer supports paper type Brochure Matte - standard paper size (A4 / Letter) at 180 gsm.
"You might not be able to get there from here."
Printer Specifications for HP OfficeJet Pro 8700 Printers
Photo paper | 220 to 280 g/m2 (80 lb bond) | Up to 50 sheets (17 mm [0.67 inch] stacked) |
OK -
If the paper size, type, and weight is supported,
Check next the Tray and Paper Settings
Paper Size / Type can be checked at the printer control panel right after the paper is changed or when the tray is opened for a few seconds and then closed.
OR
Check / Adjust the Tray and Paper settings in the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
You might get away with selecting paper type "Specialty Paper - Matte".
The paper weight must be supported - there might be a tiny bit of leeway, but 300 gsm paper likely won't be accepted no matter what you do with the paper settings.
