Hi @Lucy146

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our notice.

I see that you are facing issues with your printer. Do not worry, we are here to fix it.

  • May I know from when are you facing this issue?
  • Did you make any hardware or software-related changes to it?
  • Did you try to perform a complete power reset?

If not, follow these steps to reset the printer.

Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Wait at least 60 seconds.

Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

   NOTE:

HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Once done, try to print. If it still doesn't work, then follow this document https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-5740-e-all-in-one-printer-series/6617253/document/... which will provide you step by step instructions. By the end of the document, I'm sure the issue would be resolved. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
