Hi @thos17,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 is pulling paper in skewed, leading to misaligned prints, here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.
Check Paper Alignment:
- Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the tray. The paper should be straight and not curled or bent.
- Ensure that the paper guides in the tray are snug against the edges of the paper without being too tight.
Inspect the Paper:
- Use a fresh stack of paper and make sure it is not damaged or moist. Paper that is wrinkled or curled can cause skewing.
- Verify that the paper size matches the settings on the printer. For example, if you are using A4 paper, ensure the printer is set to A4 in the settings.
Clean the Rollers:
- Dust or debris on the paper feed rollers can cause skewing. Clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water. Gently wipe the rollers to remove any buildup.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check for any firmware updates for your printer. You can do this through the HP Smart app or on the HP website. Keeping the printer updated can help resolve known issues.
Adjust Print Settings:
- In the print settings on your computer, ensure that the correct paper type and size are selected. Also, check if there are any alignment options that may need adjustment.
Run the Printer’s Calibration:
- Many HP printers have a built-in calibration tool. Check the printer settings or HP Smart app for options to calibrate the printer to ensure accurate printing.
Test with Different Paper Types:
- Sometimes using a different brand or type of paper can make a difference. Try printing on another type of paper to see if the issue persists.
Printer Reset:
- If none of the above solutions work, try resetting the printer. Turn it off, unplug it from the power source for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
