Printer automatically reads only 5 x 7 in size for printing. thus unable to take A4 size prints

Hp deskjet 4100 series printer

unable to make A4 size prints as printer automatically reads just 5 x 7 inch size . If I change the paper tray settings to A4 size then printing shows error.

If you are using HP Smart, adjust the paper settings using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to tell the printer about your paper.

EWS is available from your browser and from within HP Smart.

For example

Open the printer Tray.

If not done, Load the correct paper size into the printer according the instructions in the User Guide.

Close the tray.

For those printers that include a Display panel,

Evaluate the message on the printer – change / verify the paper setting.

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management

If applicable, check the Advanced section (at the bottom of the Tray and Paper Management menu)

Click Apply to save changes

Start HP Smart Application

Printer Settings

In section Settings > Advanced

Tab Settings > Preferences

Tray and Paper Management

As Available:  Check / Adjust settings in Advanced

Click Apply to save changes
