I've had an ongoing issue where when printing multiple pages my printer will successfully print the first page but won't completely feed it out and begin printing the second page on the bottom of the first page. Restarting the printer does not correct it. It will also become jammed when this happens, and it sometimes does not recognize that I've unjammed it and I'm forced to disconnect and reconnect the power cord.

Hi @GilbertPJ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your printer is experiencing issues with its paper feed mechanism and sensor responses. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Check for Paper Jam: Even if you've cleared a jam, small bits of paper might still be lodged inside, causing issues. Open all accessible panels and inspect carefully with a flashlight. Look for tiny pieces of torn paper or anything unusual.
Inspect the Rollers: Worn or dirty rollers can cause improper feeding of paper. Check if the rollers are clean and not slick or shiny. You can clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or rubbing alcohol. Make sure they're dry before you try printing again.
Adjust Paper Settings: Ensure that the paper type and size in your printer settings match what is loaded in the tray. Also, check if the paper tray is tightly adjusted so that the papers are snug but not too tight, as this can also cause feeding issues.
Printer Driver and Firmware Updates: Visit the HP website to ensure your printer's firmware and drivers are up-to-date. Updates often include fixes for common issues.
Reset the Printer: Since you mentioned that turning it off and on doesn’t help, try a more complete reset. Most printers have a reset function in the settings menu, or you can unplug it for about a minute before reconnecting.
Sensor Check: If your printer has a sensor to detect paper jams or the presence of paper, it might be faulty or dirty. This could be why it doesn’t recognize that jams have been cleared. Cleaning this sensor might help, but be careful as sensors can be delicate.
Consult the Manual: Look for a troubleshooting section in your printer’s manual that may address this specific issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
