Hi @Carrolb39,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with a stuck cartridge access door on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e. Here's what you can try to resolve this.
- Turn off the printer: Always start by powering off the printer and unplugging it from the electrical outlet to ensure safety.
- Check for obstructions: Sometimes, debris or paper fragments can prevent the door from opening properly. Try gently wiggling or moving any visible pieces of paper that may be stuck around the door area.
- Gently force the door open: If there is no obstruction but the door is still stuck, gently pull or press the cartridge access door. You may need to apply a little force, but make sure to avoid damaging the mechanism.
- Use a flashlight: Shine a flashlight into the paper path or cartridge area to see if there are any paper fragments you can't easily spot. If you find any, carefully remove them using tweezers or a similar tool.
- Check for any screws: Some HP models have screws that can hold the door shut. If you're comfortable, you can check for screws that might need to be removed to free the door.
- Reset the printer: After removing any obstruction, plug the printer back in and turn it on. Perform a soft reset by holding down the power button for 10-15 seconds.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
