Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The printer keeps giving the message out of paper, that it prefers ColorLok paper. It is not accepting multiuse paper that is not HP. It has been accepting other papers until now when I am trying to use Home Depot paper, 20 pound, 98 brightness. I have tried various options in the media box on the print set up. The plain setting has always worked no matter what paper I am using. Please help me get this printer to recognize that paper is in the tray. Thanks.

It is highly unlikely that the printer is rejecting the paper because it is not HP. More likely you have an issue such as a damaged flag or dirty sensor that is preventing the recognition of paper.

I don’t need you to tell me how to clean it. I opened it up and took a can of air spray and sprayed everything I could see. I wiped surfaces and wheels and bars and every flat surface I could reach. I plugged it in, held my breath, and it grabbed a non HP paper and printed!!! I accept your help as a solution!  Thank you!!! Wise one!!!
