Brand new out of the box, Printed once ok but ink was feathery. Selected print test and now it jams every time. Narrowed it down to the last set of rollers; on the righthand side the rollers do not spin freely as they do on the left?
Have triple checked there is no packaging or tape left in the printer.

Hi @Camden33
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're having trouble with the printer rollers on your new printer, particularly on the right side where they aren't spinning freely. This issue could be caused by a few things, even if the printer is new, but let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot it and see if we can resolve it.
Steps to Resolve the Printer Roller Issue:
1. Double Check for Obstructions
Even though you've already checked for tape or packaging, it’s worth inspecting again—sometimes small pieces of packing material or other debris can get caught in areas that are hard to see.
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the printer to access the rollers. Carefully look at the rollers on both sides and ensure there’s nothing stuck, like small bits of paper or plastic.
- Use a flashlight to check any areas that are difficult to see.
2. Manually Rotate the Rollers
Since the rollers on the right side aren’t spinning freely, you can try to manually rotate them (gently) to see if you feel any resistance or if something might be preventing them from moving.
- If the rollers are hard to move, try to gently wiggle them to see if there’s any obstruction or if something is stuck inside.
- Ensure the paper path is clear and that nothing is binding.
3. Check for a Misaligned Roller or Mechanism
If the rollers on the right side are not spinning freely, they might not be aligned properly, which could cause the jamming issue.
- Inspect the roller alignment to ensure they are positioned correctly. If the rollers are crooked or not seated in the correct position, they could cause paper to jam.
- If the roller is misaligned, you might be able to carefully adjust it back into position. However, be gentle to avoid damaging the roller or any components.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
