Office Jet 8025e, I just changed a cartridge, printer was working fine, now getting error message that the "cartridge is jammed' but I've checked the whole printer, no paper jam, cartridge appears to have full range. Have restarted a few times and still getting an error loop.

On these printers, carriage location is tracked by an optical sensor that scans a grid printed on a plastic strip that the carriage moves across. If that strip is broken or dirty, the sensor does not detect movement and will throw an error. You can clean the strip using a soft cloth moistened with water. Gently rub the strip until it is clean. I have seen cases where the strip is damaged when the left end of the strip, which has a slot that goes over a metal hook fails. In a case like that I have been able to repair the end of the strip by reinforcing it with duct tape and remounting it.
