HI @skulle,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue with your HP OfficeJet 4655 All-In-One Printer.
Check Paper Tray Alignment:
- Ensure that the paper tray is properly aligned and securely pushed into the printer. Sometimes it may appear closed but might not be fully in place.
Reload Paper:
- Remove all paper from the tray, align the stack, and reload it. Ensure that the paper is not wrinkled or bent and that the stack is not overfilled.
Close the Tray Firmly:
- Close the paper tray firmly until it clicks into place. There may be a sensor that needs to be engaged, and it might require a bit more force to fully close.
Clean the Tray Sensors:
- Dust or debris on the sensors can cause issues. Use a dry lint-free cloth to clean the sensors in the paper tray area.
Check for Obstructions:
- Open the printer and check for any small pieces of paper or other obstructions that might be preventing the tray from closing properly.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the sensors and clear error messages.
Firmware Update:
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, an update can fix bugs that cause these issues. You can check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or the HP website.
Factory Reset:
- If none of the above steps work, you might need to perform a factory reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
