Printing from Word 2021 causes HP 4650 to generate jam error, printing from other MSO products work

New Windows 11 Home install, Word 2021

Every print job sent from Word triggers a paper jam error, but paper does not appear jammed. 

Printing from other programs, such as Excel does not trigger jam error message, and prints fine.

I have installed the latest HP driver for this printer  

Device Manager indicates driver used is Microsoft IPP Class Driver

This problems has shown up a number of times for Word 2021

One solution mentioned by Microsoft is to clear and re-start the print spooler.

It appears the Windows print spooler is un-aware that an actual jam was cleared hours, days or even months ago.

Possibly a repair of Office will help.

Do not let Windows manage your printers.

If you try to print a word document and the last printer you used was a label printer, windows will send the job to the label printer instead of the default printer if you are not careful.  If the label printer is offline then nothing will print and you may get a strange error message.

Windows 11

1. Right-click the Start button (lower-left corner) and select Installed apps on the pop-up menu. 

2. Select the Microsoft Office product you want to repair, click the ellipses, and select Modify. 

   (Note- I selected "Microsoft Office Professional 2021 - en-us")

3. Note: This will repair the entire Office suite even if it's just one application you want to repair such as Word or Excel. If you have a standalone app installed, then search for that application by name.
