Printing on 4 x 8 cardstock

Can my printer (HP Envy Pro 6455) print on 4 x 8 cardstock?  If so, how to I do it?  Thanks.  I tried the website, printer user manual and web but no success.

I understand the HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-in-One Printer supports a variety of paper types and sizes, but printing on custom sizes like 4 x 8 cardstock can be a bit tricky, especially if the size is not listed in the printer's default options.
 

Here's how you can try to print on 4 x 8 cardstock:

1. Check Paper Size Support

First, verify if your printer supports 4 x 8 cardstock. The HP ENVY Pro 6455 does support cardstock, but certain custom sizes might not be included by default.

2. Create a Custom Paper Size

You may need to create a custom paper size for 4 x 8 inches in your print settings.

For Windows:

1. Open the document you want to print.
2. Click File > Print.
3. In the print window, click on Printer Properties or Preferences (this can vary depending on your app).
4. Look for an option to set Custom Size under the Paper/Quality tab.
5. Set the custom size to 4 x 8 inches and save it.
6. Load the 4 x 8 cardstock into the printer tray and adjust the paper width guides to fit snugly.
7. Print your document.

For macOS:

1. Open the document and select File > Print.
2. In the print dialog, click on Paper Size and then select Manage Custom Sizes from the dropdown.
3. Create a new custom size with dimensions of 4 x 8 inches.
4. Save the custom size and select it in the print dialog.
5. Load your cardstock in the printer and proceed to print.

3. Adjust Printer Tray

Make sure you adjust the paper tray guides to fit the 4 x 8 cardstock snugly to avoid paper jams or misfeeds.

4. Change Media Type

When you’re in the printer settings, choose the correct media type, like "Cardstock," if available. This will optimize the print quality for thicker paper.
