I do not understand what "just got stiff" means in the context of loading the paper in the tray.
Perhaps the paper guides are set too tight?
It might not matter -- the source of the problem might be elsewhere.
For example,
Card paper is not Photo paper -- the supported sizes and weights are different for the different paper types.
========================================
Printer - Supported Paper Types
The printer supports Index Card Paper (HP Card) to 200 gsm.
Reference: User Guide - HP ENVY 6000e All-in-One series - Page 115
Paper weights
● Plain Paper: 60 to 90 g/m² (16 to 32 lb bond)
● Envelopes: 75 to 90 g/m² (20 to 55 lb bond envelope)
● Cards: Up to 200 g/m² (110 lb index maximum)
● Photo Paper: Up to 300 g/m² (145 lb bond)
Unfortunately, nothing in the modern specifications says which size card paper is supported. That generally means that the Index card paper settings would perhaps be listed in the printer driver paper list during job configuration or in Printing Preferences (Windows).

Section Paper Handling
Important
Photo paper, glossy photo paper, is not "card" paper.
You cannot trade card paper type for photo paper type during job setup.
Different animals.
Photo paper is likely supported in limited sizes --
Once again, the specifications do not differentiate; I cannot provide (for example) a table that shows photo paper sizes. Find this information in the printer driver during job configuration.
Important
- Job submission criteria and available settings are different depending on the Operating System / version and the application or software you are using to open, view, configure, and submit the job to the printer.
- Mobile apps tend to be less robust (provide fewer features) than (for example) Windows apps and software programs.

Printer - Tray and Paper
Depending on the printer model, the information might be checked on the touch-screen Printer Control Panel.
EWS > HP Document / How-to
Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
NOTE: Find printer IP address
Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation
EWS – Tray and Paper Management
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)
Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type
Model Dependent: Advanced section
Click Apply to save changes
Tray and Paper – Paper Size / Paper Type / Paper Weight
Reminder
HP Smart Mobile might require that paper size / type is rechecked / adjusted before the content is opened for print.
Paper Size, Type, and Weight loaded in the printer tray must be supported for use in that tray.
Paper Types in EWS do not always exactly match paper types provided during job configuration -- Select what is closest.
EWS provides access and control to check / adjust Tray and Paper Settings.
Notes
Depending on the printer model, the Printer Control Panel might provide access to Paper Size / Type settings immediately after the paper is (re)loaded into the appropriate printer intake tray.
Trays
- If the printer lacks a second tray, all paper / types are supported in the single available tray.
- Printers that include a Photo Tray generally restrict the paper sizes and paper type supported in that tray.
Custom size?
If EWS does not allow setting the paper size or size “Custom”,
If the printer includes a touch display printer control panel,
Look for the setting for “Custom” in the Printer Control Panel after (re)loading the paper to be used
NOTE: Not available for all printers
What?
Paper Size, Type, and Weight must be appropriate for the tray in which that paper is to be used.

Printer - Job Configuration
Job setup is entirely dependent on the Operating System / version and the app / software used.
Also important >> Content / File type.
Make sure the paper size / type selection is a matched set to the paper size and type of paper you are using.

Stuck makes more sense. Smiling.
The answer remains the same --
Loosen the guides so snug but not smashed against the stack.
Check the paper sizes, types, and appropriate weights.
If, for example, the paper is "photo" paper and you select it as such in both EWS and in your job setup,
then the next step is to find whether the size of your paper is supported as a standard size.
If the paper is not listed as a standard size, create a Custom Paper Size form.
Whether that is enough depends on whether the printer app / software you are using accepts photo paper in that size.
