Hi @jeanette38,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry you're having trouble printing on acetate with your Smart Tank 7005. It can be frustrating when the printer doesn’t produce the expected results, especially for a specific material like acetate. Let's figure this out together!
- Are you using printer-compatible acetate sheets designed for inkjet printing, such as those with a specific coating for ink absorption?
- Have you adjusted the paper type and print quality settings in the printer preferences to match the acetate material?
- Does the printer make any marks or attempt to print, or does the acetate come out completely blank?
Ensure Acetate Compatibility:
- Check that the acetate sheets are inkjet-compatible (they often have a rough side or specific coating for printing). If they are smooth on both sides, the ink may not adhere properly.
Load Acetate Correctly:
- Ensure the printable side (usually the rough side) is facing the correct direction as indicated by your printer's manual.
Adjust Printer Settings:
- In the print settings on your computer, select Photo Paper or Transparency under paper type (if available).
- Increase the print quality to Best to ensure sufficient ink is applied.
Test with Plain Paper First:
- Print the same document on regular paper to confirm the design is processed correctly. This eliminates potential file or driver issues.
Clean the Printhead and Reattempt:
- Perform a printhead cleaning from the printer's maintenance menu.
- Retry printing on acetate to see if the ink adheres better.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
