Priter will not print on Photo paper. Made a mess inside the printer.

I load photo paper into tray 2, which is rated within the specifications for this printer, as confirmed by an HP support person on the phone. When I tell the printer to print, one of two things will happen: 1) The photo paper feeds and the printer prints, but there is no ink on the paper at all, but the printer has dispensed ink everywhere inside of itself. 2) The photo paper gets jammed, the printer prints but then realises the paper is jammed and cancels the print with an error message, still dispensing ink everywhere inside of itself.

The inside of my printer is just covered in ink. How do I even clean this?

How do I get the printer to print on photo paper? I've tried all sorts of thicknesses and brands, and they all have the same issue. This tells me there is something wrong with this printer. I have had it for almost 2 years, and this feature has never worked, I gave up and used my older printer for photos, but that printer stopped working...

This printer prints on A4 plain paper with no issues at all, and the scanner works too. It's just for whatever reason, it will not print on photo paper or card. As mentioned it is definitely within the printer's specifications, as I double triple-check before buying any paper / photo paper / card.
