E3 Carriage Jam error on Smart Tank 515 even though all insides cleared and the carriage is moving from end to end freely.

Even when i restart the printer the carriage moves from end to end, then slams the right side a few times really hard and again displayed the E3 error...

I understand that the Printer is getting error carriage Jam.

 

Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps from the document fix :-

 

Clear jammed paper from the input tray

Remove any jammed paper that is accessible from the input tray area.

  1. Remove any paper from the input tray.

  2. Press the Cancel button  to try and clear the jam automatically.

  3. Use both hands to remove any jammed paper from the input tray.

  4. Remove any torn pieces of paper or foreign objects from inside the input tray.

  5. Load paper into the input tray, and then press the Resume button  to continue the print job.

If the error persists, check for jammed paper in another area of the printer.

Clear jammed paper from the output tray area

Remove any jammed paper that is accessible from the output tray area.

  1. Press the Cancel button  to try and clear the jam automatically.

  2. Use both hands to remove any jammed paper from the output tray.

  3. Remove any torn pieces of paper or foreign objects from inside the output tray.

  4. Press the Resume button  to continue the print job.

If the error persists, check for jammed paper in another area of the printer.

Clear jammed paper from inside the printer

Open the printer, and then remove any jammed paper that is accessible from inside the printer.

  1. Press the Cancel button  to try and clear the jam automatically.

  2. Close the output tray extender, and then close the output tray.

  3. Disconnect the power cord from the printer.

       WARNING:

    To avoid risk of injuries or electric shock, you must disconnect the power cord before reaching inside the printer.

  4. Open the front door, and then open the printhead access door.

  5. Use both hands to remove any jammed paper from inside the printer.

  6. Move the carriage to the far left and far right, if possible, and then remove any torn pieces of paper or foreign objects.

       CAUTION:

    Do not open the printhead latch.

  7. Close the front door.

  8. Pull out the output tray.

  9. Reconnect the power cord, and then turn the printer on.

  10. Resend the print job, if necessary.

If the error persists, check for jammed paper in another area of the printer.

Clear jammed paper from underneath the printer

Remove any loose or jammed paper that is accessible from the ink cartridge access area.

   NOTE:

These steps involve setting the printer on its back. To avoid ink leakage, do not keep the printer in this position any longer than it takes to clear the jam.

  1. Press the Cancel button  to try and clear the jam automatically.

  2. Close the output tray extender, and then close the output tray.

  3. Remove any paper from the input tray, and then lower the input tray.

  4. Make sure all ink caps are closed.

  5. Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the power cord and any other cables.

       WARNING:

    You must disconnect the power cord before reaching inside the printer to avoid risk of injuries or electric shock.

  6. Lift the printer, and then set it on its back to expose the underside.

  7. Locate the cleanout door on the bottom of the printer, and then pull the tabs to open it.

  8. Use both hands to remove any jammed paper from the cleanout area.

  9. Remove any torn pieces of paper or foreign objects from the cleanout area.

  10. Close the cleanout door.

  11. Carefully place the printer in the upright position.

  12. Reconnect the power cord and any other cables to the rear of the printer, and then turn on the printer.

  13. Lift the input tray, and then load paper.

  14. Pull out the output tray.

  15. Reconnect the power cord, and then turn the printer on.

  16. Resend the print job, if necessary.

If the error persists, check for jammed paper in another area of the printer.

If the error persists after checking all paper paths, continue to the next step.

Step 2: Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet

Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet to make sure the power source is functioning correctly.

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from any power strips or surge suppressors.

  3. Plug the power cord directly into an electrical outlet.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  5. Turn on the printer.

Try to print. If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

Step 3: Reset the printer

Resetting the printer can clear carriage jam errors.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
