My HP Office JetPro 8600 All in One Printer stopped printing. The error message : "Pick Motor Stalled". Following directions from HP website, I turned off the printer, pulled the cable to my computer, waited 30 minutes. Then I reattached computer to printer and turned the printer on again - same error. What can I do next in troubleshooting?

Hi @JackFlash1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Pick Motor Stalled" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 typically indicates an issue with the paper feed mechanism. Here are some additional steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open the paper tray and look inside the printer for any jammed paper or foreign objects. Remove any obstructions carefully.
Inspect the Paper Path:
- Open all accessible areas of the printer (including the rear access door if your model has one) and check for any paper or debris that might be obstructing the pick motor.
Clean the Paper Feed Rollers:
- Dust and debris can cause the rollers to slip or fail to grip the paper properly. Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to clean the paper feed rollers. Make sure the rollers are completely dry before closing the printer.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
Check the Paper Tray:
- Ensure the paper tray is properly loaded and that the paper is aligned correctly. Avoid overloading the tray, and use paper that is in good condition and suitable for your printer.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Sometimes driver issues can cause printing problems. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer.
Perform a Printer Self-Test:
- Some HP printers have a self-test or diagnostics mode that can be accessed through the printer’s control panel.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
