Aftermath
Could someone please put me in contact with hp because when I try to it asks for the serial number. I enter it in correctly but it shows as not found and does not let me live chat or email in any way.
My printer had an error where it said open tray and check paper guides. I removed the tray labelled 2 and inspected it. As you can see, the gear looked chipped. I restarted the printer without tray 2 installed and no paper inside but tray 1 had one sheet of A4 paper. It showed no errors after dismissing the refill paper screen and I clicked print demo page. About a second later, thick smoke started to pour out the empty front tray slot and then it went BANG. I immediately ripped out the power cable and ran to get water. After tipping the printer over and pouring water, it still continued to burn. I picked it up and rushed it to the garden, where I was finally able to extinguish the fire. It burned my desk and left ashes and bits of melted plastic across the room including damaging a lenovo thinkpad. Its shocking how quickly it caught on fire and for some reason it did not shut itself off earlier before catching on fire.
Dissapointed especially since I do not use it much either.
I hope to recieve some sort of compensation from HP.

Unfortunately, I have rang three times via hp uk's helpline and each time they say they will transfer me to another person, but instead they cut the call. At this point, I don't know what to do and will be seeking legal advice
