Sorry for probably dumb question. Can't figure it out from manual or online. I got a new printer today and while I have some regular 70gsm paper I was hoping to print on something more sturdy for arty purposes, nothing too strenuous, just outlines. Hoping to go up to 200gsm if possible. Could anyone advise if this is acceptable for my printer model or will it cause issues?

Cheers x

Hi @Kimharii,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP DeskJet 2800e All-in-One Printer is designed to handle various paper types, but it's essential to use paper that fits within its specifications.

For the DeskJet 2800e, the recommended maximum paper weight is typically around 90-120 gsm for plain paper and up to 200 gsm for specialty media like cardstock or photo paper. Using heavier paper can be possible, but it may lead to issues like paper jams or poor print quality if the paper is too thick.

Since you're looking to use 200 gsm paper for outlines, it should work fine, but ensure to.

  1. Select the right media type in the printer settings to match the paper you're using.
  2. Feed the paper one sheet at a time if you're encountering any difficulties with multiple sheets.

If you encounter any issues, you might consider slightly lower weights (like 160 gsm) to ensure smooth printing. Enjoy your printing!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
