I had to pull the paper tray out of my 5255 printer.  Now I read that the tray is cannot be removed, or replaced.  Is that correct?  I cannot get it back in.   If I cut off those 2 angled arms, will the printer still be usable?   Thanks.

@10Paolo28, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Replacing the Paper Tray on HP DeskJet 5255 Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The paper tray on the HP DeskJet 5255 printer is not designed to be removable or replaceable by the user. Manually forcing the tray out or attempting to modify it by cutting off parts could damage the printer and potentially render it unusable.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
