HP Tango

Hello,

My Tango is grabbing the paper at an angle, and not printing. I ran through the full checklist provided on prior threads without success. What are my options?

Thank you.

Hi @DC78231,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When a printer like the HP Tango grabs paper at an angle, it can lead to misalignment issues and prevent proper printing. Since you’ve already run through the basic checklist without success, here are additional steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Check Paper Type and Size

  1. Use Correct Paper: Ensure you are using the correct type and size of paper recommended for your printer.
  2. Paper Condition: Verify that the paper is clean, flat, and not curled or damaged.

2. Inspect and Adjust Paper Tray

Paper Tray Alignment:

  • Remove the paper tray and check for any obstructions or debris.
  • Ensure the paper guides in the tray are adjusted to fit the paper size correctly.

Load Paper Properly:

  • Load the paper into the tray without overfilling it.
  • Make sure the paper stack is aligned straight and the paper guides are snug against the edges of the paper.

3. Check Paper Path

Inspect the Paper Path:

  • Open any accessible paper paths and check for debris or small pieces of paper that might be causing the paper to skew.
  • Gently clean any visible dust or debris using a lint-free cloth.

Clear Jams:

  • If you find any paper jams, carefully remove them according to the printer’s manual instructions.

4. Clean the Rollers

  1. Turn Off the Printer: Power off and unplug the printer for safety.
  2. Access Rollers:
    • Locate the paper feed rollers (often accessible from the rear or underside of the printer).
    • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the rollers.
    • Allow the rollers to dry completely before reconnecting and turning on the printer.

5. Check for Firmware Updates

  1. Visit HP Support: Go to the HP Support website.
  2. Download Updates: Search for your printer model and check for any available firmware updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Many thanks! #4 (cleaning the rollers) actually did the trick.

The rollers aren't very accessible in the Tango, so I had to get creative and do some digging, but ended up with a very dirty cloth, covered in toner, and was able to print successfully after completing the job.

Thanks!
