HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The ink cartridge carriage on my OfficeJet Pro 9018 gets stuck, creating a paper jam error. I have checked for paper jams, and there are none.  I purchased new HP cartridges, and this issue began several months later.  I have cleaned the rollers, and still get the error message.  When the printer attempts to print, there is a scratching noise, as if the ink cartridge carrier is stuck.  When I move it by hand, it doesn't slide easily.  Also, after following several fix-it videos and instructions, I noticed that my certified HOP cartridges do not have copper connections on them.  I don't know if this is an issue.  The label indicates that they were manufactured in Malaysia, and the expiration date is July 2025.  Does anyone have a solution or suggestion for this issue? Thank you!

Hello Elohi_NR,

I appreciate your reply.  However, based on the disclaimers posted on this website, how can I certain that you are an HP employee?  One can never be too careful nowadays!  Therefore, I will not click on the links you have posted.  I will just have to purchase another printer, but not Hewlett Packard.  Thank you.

Dear Elohi_NR,

After hovering my mouse over the links you provided, I was able to see that the information you provided is legitimate.  I wish I could retract my previous post. However, after attempting to update my driver several times,  the ink carriage jam issue remains unresolved.  I have used this inkjet printer for about 3 years, and it seems that I will need to be replace it.  Planned obsolescence. However, I have an HP Color LaserJet that has been a workhorse and is still going strong 10 years later!   The toner cartridges cost a lot, but it is a dependable oldie but goodie, just not an all-in-one printer!  Thank you for your assistance.
