Tray is open, even if its physically closed

Hello.

as the title suggests, the printer thinks the paper tray is open, even if its not.

I have tried all the troubleshooting steps and none of them wont work.

Check paper tray for broken tabs. The picture shows a paper tray from the bottom side, the tabs are facing the interior of the printer.

Yes the other tab is missing entirely. maybe broken or something. is there any way to fix?

Fold a piece of paper and insert it in the printer ( where the broken part should go if it wasn't broken) there is a hole in the printer.

So i should cover the hole? or jam in the paper or what?

You should fold a piece of paper that matches the size of the broken tab, and insert it in the hole.

Inside the hole is a paper presence sensor, when you insert a tray ( or folded paper) the printer knows that tray is present in the printer.

Or buy a new tray.
