My Vinyl (though its not really vinyl) sticker paper is getting stuck in my printer. Im thinking because it is to thick. Is there another setting on my printer that would work to  let the paper go thru? Thanks for any help

Not really sure about the definition of "not really vinyl" paper.

That said,

  • The paper paper weight must not exceed the specs for "card paper" or "brochure paper".
  • The paper must be of a supported size.
  • The paper must be able to be drawn into the printer, printed, and then properly expelled from the printer without catching, dragging, sticking, or sliding.

Two-shiny-sided label / sticker paper (Cricut paper?) is somewhat notorious for sliding and not feeding correctly.

For some reason, the paper apparently has a shiny backside - the printers have trouble grabbing the paper...

The specifications include a section that describes the Paper Handling requirements.

Product Specifications for the HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Printer (M2U75A)

Assuming the paper is not two-shiny sided, is of a supported weight and size,

Assuming, too, that the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software is installed,

Consider selecting Paper Type (to one of) Brochure, Card, Thick, or possibly "other", as available.
