- What passes for "support" says I need a "CP1510 Toolbox FX" ...

What remains for support on this printer, says I need to have
the "CP1510 Toolbox FX" to do any printer maintenance. This
is not found by any searching. The present-day HP print / scan
"doctor" has nothing for the internal cleaning modes of this
printer. The "Virtual Assistant" may be virtual, but assistance
there is none. I guess keeping old Laserjets alive is bad for
business.
But guess what... so is utter lack of support for legacy hardware.
Can anyone get me to a Windows 10 64-bit version of that
product-specific management software? Not the modern-day
substitutes. None of the ones listed on the product (CP1510 family)
downloads, are what I'm told (by stale "archived" forum posts
and the product manual) I need. Check it out:
Solution six: Clean inside the printer
note:This solution might require the full HP software. If you did not install the full software when you installed your printer, right-click the following link to go to the Software and Drivers page to download and install it now.
- Open ToolboxFX.
- Windows XP: Click Start (
- Windows Vista: Click the Windows icon (
- Click the Device Settings folder, and then click the Services page.
- In the Cleaning Mode area, click Start to begin the cleaning process.A page feeds through the printer slowly. Recycle or discard the page when the process ends.
- Try printing again.
Now the problem is, every link to this software has been changed
to a "redirect" which has nothing for this. Nothing.
Where can I get this software in a Win10 (or compatibility mode that
will work under Win10 64 bit) version? Or, why not?

I suggest that you try the Vista 64 full install.

The software has been removed for all OSes.
Obsoleting software is a deliberate act which forces customers
to buy new hardware. And so is "updates" which enable you to
"brick" printers for not buying overpriced cionsumables direct.
So I have gone and bought new hardware.
From Canon.
Because the only thing better than no support is self righteous
lack, of. And the only thing even better than that, is deliberately
taking away support in pursuit of unnecessary new product sales.
So you get none, no more, never again.
Will you learn a thing? Probably not. But at least you will no longer
be a pain to my business.
