Hi @bonair10,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the paper feeding mechanism or the settings related to duplex printing on your HP printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

  • Check paper type and condition: Ensure that you are using the correct type and size of paper recommended for your printer. Also, make sure the paper is not damaged or wrinkled, as this can cause feeding issues.
  • Adjust paper guides: Make sure the paper guides in the input tray are correctly aligned with the paper to prevent misfeeds.
  • Update printer firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer and install them. Sometimes, firmware updates include fixes for printing issues.
  • Clean the paper feed rollers: Dust and debris on the paper feed rollers can cause feeding problems. Clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water.
  • Check duplex settings: Ensure that the duplex printing settings are correctly configured in both your printer settings on your computer and on the printer itself. Make sure it is set to "Automatic" if available.
  • Try different software: If you're experiencing the issue when printing from a specific program, try printing from a different program to see if the problem persists.
  • Reset printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This can sometimes resolve temporary issues.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with your HP printer's duplex printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
