I have a Deskjet 4122e and, like others have commented, I have to press the Resume button to start every print job. I have checked all the settings and they are correct. It seems pointless having a network printer in another room only to have to go to it and press buttons to get it to work properly.

Hi @JohnThompson1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with your HP Deskjet 4122e where you need to press the Resume button for every print job, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue. Here are some suggestions.
- Update Firmware/Drivers: Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit the HP website and download the latest firmware and drivers for your printer model.
- Check Power Settings: Make sure that the printer is not going into sleep mode or power-saving mode, which may cause it to require manual intervention before starting a print job. Adjust the power settings on the printer if needed.
- Printer Queue Issues: Clear the print queue on your computer to ensure that there are no pending or stuck print jobs. Sometimes, a queued print job can cause issues.
- Network Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the network. If there are connectivity issues, it might lead to delays in processing print jobs.
- Paper and Ink Levels: Make sure that there is enough paper in the tray and sufficient ink in the cartridges. Sometimes, printers may pause if they detect low levels of paper or ink.
- Reset Printer: Try turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on again. This can help reset the printer and clear any temporary issues.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Manufacturers often release firmware updates to address issues and improve performance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
