@Dannao11, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check for Paper Jams: Even if you're not using the scanner, the error could be coming from a paper jam inside the scanner area. Open the scanner lid and check for any obstructions or bits of paper stuck inside.

Reset the Printer:

Turn off the printer.

Unplug it from the power source for 30 seconds.

Plug it back in and power it on to see if the error clears.

Reset Paper Size Settings: If the printer is stuck on 4x6 paper size, you may need to manually reset the paper size.

Go to your printer settings on the printer's control panel.

Change the paper size back to your preferred size (e.g., Letter or A4).

Make sure the paper tray has the correct size paper loaded.

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Clear Printer Queue and Restart: If there's a stuck print job in the queue, it could cause odd behavior.

Open the print queue on your computer and cancel any pending jobs.

Restart the printer.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
