Hi @ltrh,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing black and grey lines on card stock when using your HP DeskJet 4130e All-In-One Printer, it is likely due to an issue with the printer's roller or the card stock itself. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
- Check the card stock: Make sure the card stock you're using is not damaged, dirty, or bent. Even a small crease or debris on the paper can cause printing issues. Try using a different batch of card stock to see if the problem persists.
- Clean the printer rollers: Over time, printer rollers can accumulate dust, paper fibers, or other debris, which can result in uneven or smudged printing. Open the printer cover and locate the rollers (usually gray or rubbery). Gently clean them with a soft, lint-free cloth slightly moistened with water. Avoid using excessive force or any cleaning agents.
- Adjust paper settings: Ensure that the paper settings in your printer driver or software match the type of card stock you're using. Incorrect settings can lead to poor print quality. Select the appropriate paper type and thickness in the printer settings.
- Check printer alignment: Incorrect alignment of the printer's print head can cause lines or streaks on the printed output. Most printers have a built-in alignment tool or option. Check your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform an alignment procedure.
- Update printer firmware and drivers: Visit the HP website and download the latest firmware and drivers for your printer model. Outdated software can sometimes cause printing issues. Follow the instructions provided to install the updates correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
