@NancyS2024, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Office Jet Pro 6975!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
The 0x6100004A error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6975 printer is often related to a carriage jam, paper jam, or hardware failure, even if no paper jam is visible. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and fix it:
Reset the Printer
Turn off the printer using the power button.
Unplug the printer from the wall socket.
Wait for 1-2 minutes to clear any residual charge.
Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check if the error persists.
Check for Paper Jam (Even if You Don’t See One)
Open the front access door and remove the ink cartridges.
Check for any small pieces of paper stuck inside the paper feed.
Turn the printer upside down and gently shake it to dislodge any tiny fragments.
Use a flashlight to check the rear paper path.
Close everything and turn the printer on again.
Inspect the Carriage and Ink Cartridges
Open the ink cartridge access door.
If the carriage is stuck, gently move it left and right to ensure smooth movement.
Remove the ink cartridges and reinstall them properly.
Close the door and check if the error persists.
Perform a Hard Reset
Disconnect the power cord while the printer is ON.
Wait for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back in directly into the wall socket (avoid using a power strip).
Turn the printer on and check if the error clears.
Update Firmware
On your Windows 11 PC, go to HP Support → HP Software & Driver Downloads.
Enter your printer model (OfficeJet Pro 6975) and download any available firmware updates.
Install the update and restart the printer.
Let me know how it goes!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
