Hello @sarah1912, and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
Based on the printer's display message, the issue is a document feeder jam, which means a sheet of paper is stuck in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
Steps to Clear a Document Feeder Jam on an HP Printer
- Turn off the printer to avoid any movement while clearing the jam.
- Open the ADF cover (usually on top of the printer where documents are fed).
- Gently remove any jammed paper:
- Look for torn pieces or stuck sheets.
- Avoid pulling too hard to prevent damage.
- Check the ADF input tray and rollers:
- Remove any debris or small bits of paper.
- Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water if needed.
- Close the ADF cover securely.
- Turn the printer back on and try scanning or copying again.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
