Hi @Andy465,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying too clear a paper jam in your HP ENVY 6000 All-In-One Printer series, follow these steps carefully:
1. Turn off the Printer
- Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
- Unplug the printer from the power source and disconnect any cables.
2. Check the Input and Output Trays
- Remove any loose sheets of paper from the input tray and output tray.
- Gently pull out any stuck paper visible in these areas. Be careful not to tear the paper.
3. Access the Paper Path
- Open the Ink Cartridge Access Door:
- Lift the scanner lid to reveal the ink cartridge area.
- Check for any jammed paper inside.
- Remove Paper from the Rollers:
- Use both hands to gently pull the paper straight out if visible. Do not force it to prevent damage to the rollers.
- Clean the Rollers (Optional):
- If the rollers have debris, clean them with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
4. Check the Rear of the Printer
- Locate the rear access door or duplexer (if equipped).
- Press the tabs to remove the door or duplexer.
- Carefully pull out any jammed paper.
- Reinstall the rear access door or duplexer securely.
5. Inspect the Printer for Small Pieces of Paper
- Check for and remove any small scraps of paper that might remain inside the printer.
- Ensure no obstructions are left in the paper path.
6. Reconnect and Test
- Plug the printer back into the power source.
- Turn on the printer and try printing a test page.
Additional Tips:
- Always load the paper correctly and adjust the paper width guides in the input tray to prevent future jams.
- Avoid overloading the tray and ensure the paper stack is properly aligned.
- Use compatible paper types and avoid wrinkled or torn sheets.
