@ET06, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP 9730e Indicating Out of Paper!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP 9730e printer is indicating it is out of paper despite having plenty of paper, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Tray Inspection:

  • Ensure that the paper is correctly loaded in the tray.
  • Check if the paper is aligned properly and not wrinkled or curled.

Paper Roll Tightness:

  • If using a roll of paper, ensure that the roll has not become loose from its core.
  • Tighten the paper roll to its core or consider loading a new roll if possible.

Check Paper Sensors:

  • Make sure the paper sensors in the tray or paper path are clean and not blocked.
  • Remove any paper dust or debris from the sensors.

Load More Paper:

  • Sometimes the printer may not detect a low paper stack. Load additional paper into the tray and check if the issue persists.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • This may resolve any temporary issues with paper detection.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
