ENVY 6000
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Envy 6000 has been having issues with paper jams. I tried to print on cardstock and it got stuck. Now the printer refuses to pull the paper in the correct manner. It keeps getting completely jammed. Is this thing toast or can I fix it. So frustrated as it was a year old on Dec 4th.

Hi @KSEELY19,

I'd like to help!

I understand you facing a paper jam error.

Try the below suggestions -

Automatically clear the jam

Paper jams can be real or false. The printer might report a paper jam even when there is no jam.

On the printer control panel, press the Cancel button  to automatically clear the paper jam.

Clear jammed paper from the printer

Paper jams can occur in multiple areas of the printer. If you cannot find the paper jam in one area, continue to the next area until the jam is located.

Clear jammed paper from the ink cartridge access area

Remove any jammed paper from the ink cartridge access area.

  1. Lift the ink cartridge access door until the lid locks into place.

  2. Wait until the carriage stops moving before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord.

    WARNING:

To avoid risk of injuries or electric shock, you must disconnect the power cord before reaching inside the printer.

  4. Move the carriage to the far left and far right, and then use both hands to remove any jammed paper or debris.

  5. Behind the ink cartridge access area, remove the paper path cover by pinching the tabs together and lifting it out of the printer.

  6. Use both hands to remove any jammed paper or debris inside the printer.

  7. Lift the flip gate on the duplex rulers, and then remove any paper found underneath.

  8. Press the flip gate down until it snaps into place.

  9. Reinsert the paper path cover by pinching the tabs together and sliding the paper path cover into position.

    CAUTION:

Do not place the back posts at the X locations.

  10. Press the paper path cover down until it fully snaps into place.

  11. Close the ink cartridge access door. If the cover does not fully close, make sure the paper path cover is properly inserted.

  12. Pull out the output tray, and then lift the output tray extender.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
